Apple Launches New Professional Learning Tools and Grants for Educators In celebration of World Teachers’ Day, Apple has unveiled a comprehensive suite of new professional learning resources and significantly expanded its global education grant program. This initiative demonstrates Apple’s ongoing commitment to supporting educators and students worldwide, building on its four-decade-long history as a leader in educational technology and innovation.

New Creative Activities for Educators

Apple has introduced new Everyone Can Create resources for teachers, designed to infuse creativity into lessons without increasing workload. These Creative Activities offer quick, interactive, and engaging lesson ideas for educators to incorporate imagination and originality into their teaching plans. The activities are tailored for two age groups:

  1. Creative Activities for Early Learners (ages 4 to 8)
  2. Creative Activities for Students (ages 8 and up)

Some of the new Creative Activities include:

  • Drawing: Reveal a Constellation
  • Photo: Create a Sticker Collage
  • Video: See More in Slo-Mo
  • Music: Lay Down a Beat

These resources are now available in the Apple Education Community, a professional learning hub with over one million members.

Expansion of Apple Education Community

The Apple Education Community, a platform where educators can find inspiration, share resources, and connect with peers, is expanding its reach. This week, Apple is rolling out Forum collaboration features to 16 additional countries and regions, enabling even more global participation among educators.

Growth of Apple Learning Coach Program

Apple continues to expand its Apple Learning Coach program, a free professional learning initiative that helps educators maximize the use of Apple products in teaching. The program now offers:

  • New lessons
  • Flexible registration options
  • Availability in eight languages across 15 countries and regions

To date, over 4,000 certified Apple Learning Coaches have guided nearly 100,000 teachers, impacting 2.4 million students.

Major Expansion of Global Education Grant Program

Apple has announced a significant expansion of its education grant program, extending its reach to 100 new schools and communities across six continents. This expansion will provide free grant-funded STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) programming to students and teachers worldwide.

Impact of Apple’s Education Initiatives

To highlight the reach of its efforts, Apple has released its first-ever Education Impact Report. Key findings from the report include:

  • In the past five years, more than 10,000 teachers have received professional learning opportunities through Apple grants.
  • Over the same period, 500,000 students in nearly 2,000 schools and communities worldwide have engaged in the company’s grant programs.
  • Apple currently supports more than 200 schools and nonprofit organizations, a number that continues to grow.

New Partnerships and Deepening Existing Collaborations

CodeDoor Partnership

Apple has partnered with CodeDoor, an organization providing coding and workforce preparedness training for migrants throughout Germany. Apple supports CodeDoor’s Creators program, which uses Everyone Can Code resources and Swift Playgrounds to equip participants with tools to design and pitch apps as solutions to community challenges.

New York Public Library Collaboration

Since 2020, Apple has been collaborating with the New York Public Library to expand access to technology. This partnership focuses on providing in-person and virtual training classes for learners of all ages and skill levels, with a particular emphasis on helping adults develop confidence in their computer skills and adapt to today’s digital world.

Celebrating World Teachers’ Day Across Apple Services

In honor of World Teachers’ Day, Apple is featuring special collections and offerings across its services:

  1. App Store: The Great Tools for Teachers collection highlights classroom and lesson-planning essentials.
  2. Apple Music: A collection of learning-based albums and playlists in the Kids and Family categories.
  3. Apple Books: A curated selection of nonfiction and kids’ books about inspiring educators.
  4. Apple Podcasts: Featured shows focusing on conversations by and for educators, alongside narratives about education.
  5. Apple TV app: A collection of movies and shows highlighting the importance of teachers in students’ lives.

Today at Apple Sessions for Educators

Teachers worldwide can use Group Reservations to book Today at Apple sessions for their students at local Apple Stores. These sessions cover more than 20 topics, helping educators and students learn coding, creativity, and how to make the most of Apple products.

Special World Teachers’ Day Event

Apple is hosting a special session for teachers at the Apple Park Visitor Center in Cupertino, California, on World Teachers’ Day (October 5). The “Go Further with iPadOS 18 for Education” workshop will bring together certified Apple Learning Coaches and educators from across California for hands-on demonstrations using iPad Pro and Apple Pencil Pro.
